SOCKS ARE MADE IN A SPECIFIC WAY. HOW IS THAT DONE?

What is the process for making socks? This is a great question. We all wear socks, most of us every day. But have you ever wondered how socks are made? Let's find out.

The steps involved in making socks.

FIRST STEP: KNITTING

This step was once done by hand, with metal needles, but these days circular knitting machines perform this task. To knit a sock, a thread of cotton, wool, or synthetic material, such as Lycra, is used.

SECOND STEP: REMESHING

The method allows the closure of the sock at the tip. Remeshing is done in three ways.

According to Sunshinesockco's Sock manufacturer, a method used by big houses such as Gammarelli, Gallo, and Falke is to take up the threads one by one to form an invisible seam. As a result, other manufacturers remesh by machine for maximum comfort, but this method requires a lot of skilled labor. It is called a "Russo" remeshing for the inventor, or a "Toe Line" remeshing, an intermediate form between the "Russo" remeshing and manual remeshing.

THIRD STEP: SHAPING

Once the socks have been sewn, they are placed by hand on forms shaped like feet, and then, using a machine that uses steam, they are pulled and ironed to stretch them.

LAST STEP: PAIRING AND LABELLING

There is only one more step to do, which is pairing and labeling, to complete the sock. A small stitch joins the socks together after they are paired up and stitched together.

This completes the process of selling the socks.
